Bookkeeper (Virtual Remote PART-TIME Accounting)
Malawi Gold Limited is looking to hire a Bookkeeper (Virtual Remote Part-Time Accounting) to work remotely. The qualified candidate will be working remotely and may from time to time be required to report at our Lumbadzi location, next to KIA which has been dedicated as the Centre of Excellence for Medicinal Cannabis.

Job Description and Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper is a financial administrator in support of Managements fiduciary responsibilities to the stake holders and serves as a steward that oversees to the fiscal stability of the organization.
Accounting
- Prepare journal entries as necessary
- Assist with budget development and ensure its entry into QuickBooks
- Run monthly financial reports
- Perform year-end processing tasks
- Maintain accounting records and ensure appropriate record retention
- Ensure compliance with Companies financial controls and policies
- Manage accounts payables
Fiscal Responsibilities - Prepares, administers, and reviews budget processes in collaboration with management team, subject to review and approval by the Financial Director
- Execute as applicable, processes related to accounts payable and accounts receivable
management, bookkeeping entries, closing the books monthly as well as preparing financial
reporting and analysis. May also include payroll, HR administration and special projects as
assigned. - Establishes a responsible cash flow management system and accurately maintains all financial files and records
- Acts as a liaison between the employees and senior management on financial matters
- Maximizes cash management resources
- Process vendor payments and maintains vendor files
- Track and submit tax records
- Record deposits and maintain associated backup documents
- Record auto-debits and other electronic transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet account with accounting firm
- Prepare and support submissions of financial information as required by Management, Finance Council on a quarterly basis
- End of fiscal year/calendar year archiving files per retention list

Human Resources Generalist
The InteGrow Capital Group through its Malawi Gold Project initiative is looking to hire a Human Resources Generalist to be based in Lilongwe. The Malawi Gold Project is an inteGrow Capital vertically integrated cannabis initiative with complete control over product development, plant cultivation, and retail sales. The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and paid time off, overseeing employee terminations, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Professional Training Certificate in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- Must be well versed with labour laws of Malawi
- At least three years of human resource management experience preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with republic of Malawi employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Operations Manager
The InteGrow Capital Group through its Malawi Gold Project initiative is looking to hire an Operations Manager to be based in Lilongwe. The qualified candidate will mainly be managing operations at our Lumbadzi location next to KIA which has been dedicated as the Centre of Excellence for Greenhouse Cultivation. He or she will be expected to travel to other locations as the work demands.
The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements
- A BSc Agriculture majoring in agronomy or horticulture. Diploma candidates with requisite experience will be considered
- 5 years’ experience in a busy agriculture establishment.
- An MBA would be an added advantage
- Willingness to lead team towards the rigorous EU GMP Certification process
- Must be familiar with Continuous Improvement Process and able to go through the Lean Green Belt Six Sigma professional training
Job Description
- Design and implement plan for Greenhouse and Open Field medicinal cannabis cultivation while focusing on Good Agricultural and Collection Practice (GACP)
- Work with team of researchers to determine plant growing conditions, such as greenhouses, hydroponics, or natural settings and set planting and care schedules
- From seed to fulfilment, ensure that all employees are familiar and are adhering to the track and trace system implemented by the Malawi Gold project
- Lead the selection process and purchasing of seeds, plant nutrients, disease control chemicals and garden care equipment to ensure best results for the project
- Work on Estimation of costs and material requirements for drawing annual budgets in line with the company’s strategic plan
- Perform research functions as per the company’s local and international research protocols
- Create data collection points in line with the company’s ERP. Implement data collection of all agronomical activities and labour usage, cataloguing. Organizing and maintaining records of plants at every stage
- Analyse data and create reports to inform management operational decisions or activities
- Responsible for budget implementation and continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve quality
- Establish good stock control systems to ensure integrity of inventory records at all times
- In liaison with the board establish the required human resource requirements and create the core operations team for all locations of the business
- Complete daily reports and implementing against production protocols such as cannabis cultivation, quality and consistency, risk management and mitigation of pests and diseases trials to optimize yields.
- Organizing and documentation of daily process of nursery management, transplanting, cloning, defoliation and trimming of plants
- Manage and supervise staff to ensure assigned duties and tasks are carried out according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
- Work with compliance team to reinforce the application of Cannabis Regulation Act, 2020, other relevant legislation and compliance requirements of cultivation procedures
- Responsible for maintenance operations including disposing waste and preventing contaminations
- Apply occupational safety and health rules and conduct safety audits in line with the company’s policies
- Become subject matter expert on hemp and cannabis strains genetics and their growth requirements. Ensuring that growth requirements of cannabis plants are consistently met (soil pH, nutrients, etc)
- Keep management abreast of the latest developments in the cannabis industry
- Maintain and follow policies and procedures as directed by management
